Firms, Trade, and Development Conference 2025

The call for papers is currently open.

The annual conference on the theme of "Firms, Trade, and Development" will be held on October 24-25, 2025. This event is co-hosted by the International Growth Centre (IGC) and Yale Economic Growth Center (EGC), in collaboration with the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics at Yale University. The event will take place in-person at Yale University in New Haven, CT, USA, and we welcome papers related to this theme for consideration for the conference program.

There are two submission deadlines:

  • Early Decision Round: Friday, 30 May 2025 at 23:59 EDT (GMT-4). This round is only recommended for applicants who may face longer US visa processing times.
  • General Submission Deadline: Friday, 18 July 2025 at 23:59 EDT (GMT-4). This is the final deadline for all other applicants. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Notes:

  • Applicants who are eligible for early decision may still choose to submit in the general round. However, later submissions could result in insufficient time for visa processing, which may affect the applicant’s ability to attend the conference in person.
  • Funding for travel and accommodation will be provided to all presenters.

Academic Committee: David Atkin (MIT), Lauren Bergquist (Yale), Laura Boudreau (Columbia), Stefano Caria (University of Warwick), Ritam Chaurey (Johns Hopkins), Mayara Felix (Yale), Namrata Kala (MIT), Jose Vasquez Carvajal (LSE), Eric Verhoogen (Columbia)
