David Alzate is an Intern Research Manager at the Yale Economic Growth Center (EGC), and a Masters’ in Public Policy student at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. At EGC, he is supporting nascent research initiatives on inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean and on the role of firms and markets in international development. Born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, David previously spent four years working at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, working with government partners and donors to generate and apply insights from randomized controlled trials. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service with Honors in International Political Economy from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
