Carmen Arbaizar Mazas
Carmen Arbaizar is a Postgraduate Associate working with Rohini Pande at the Yale Economic Growth Center(EGC). She also supports Economic Growth Center affiliates working within the scope of the Gender and Growth Gaps Project. Carmen received a dual Bachelor's degree in Economics and International Studies at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where her bachelor's thesis focused on the relationship between economic outcomes and deaths of despair; She holds a Master's of Science degree in Economics from University College London, fully funded by the Bank of Spain with whom she has served as a visiting fellow.
Throughout her academic career, she has focused on labor economics, with specific interests in shocks to labor markets, economic integration and technological change, and jobs impact on well-being and social welfare. Prior to joining the EGC, Carmen has provided research support for the Spanish Ministry of Foreign affairs, the faculty at CEMFI and UC San Diego, and Veltha, an international research center committed to tackling climate change based in Brussels.
