Carl Meyer
Postdoctoral Scholar
Carl Meyer is a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University’s Economic Growth Center. His research uses field, laboratory, and online experiments, together with economic theory, to study labor markets and intertemporal decision-making. One strand examines barriers to women’s labor-force participation and gender gaps in labor-market outcomes, including how paternalistic beliefs shape household and employer decisions. Another studies how preferences and behavior change over time, and whether people anticipate those changes when making commitments. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University in 2026.
