Celebrating Our Graduates

Today we congratulate a diverse group of Yale graduates at different levels, who are moving on to the next steps in their lives and careers: our graduating economics PhD students; the International and Development Economics (IDE) Masters students who are moving on to a variety of research and policy jobs; our departing postgraduate associates who have helped enable a wide array of EGC research; and the graduating seniors in EGC’s network, including interns who have contributed to many areas of our work. 

The Economic Growth Center community congratulates them on their achievements and looks forward to their next steps. We present an overview here while inviting you to read our Commencement news article with many more details and reflections!


 

2025 Yale Economics PhDs in Development & Trade

Timothy Hersey will join the University of Chicago in a teaching position; Jack Liang will join Temple University as an Assistant Professor; Matthew Schwartzman will join the Department of Economics at the University of Michigan as an Assistant Professor; Lindsey Uniat will join the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.


 

The IDE Class of 2025

This year’s graduates of the International and Development Economics Master’s program will go on to a variety of positions in academia, finance, and policy, including the International Growth Centre, Yale Tobin Center, and Oliver Wyman.

Carmen Arbaizar Mazas will begin a PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics; George Taylor will pursue a PhD at the University of California; Akash Uppal will begin a PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics.


 

Yale College Class of 2025

We also celebrate the achievements of Yale undergraduates who studied international development – particularly those who worked with us as EGC Interns. During their time with us, they analyzed data from key ongoing research projects, wrote articles about a range of international development research, and helped plan and run our many events.
