Estimating flexible income processes from subjective expectations data: Evidence from Colombia and India

EGC affiliate Orazio Attanasio of Yale Economics delivered the LAMES BBVA Lecture at the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) and the Latin American Meeting of the Econometric Society (LAMES) 2022 Annual Meeting. This year marked the 27th edition of the event and took place in Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru from November 3rd to 5th.

Attanasio's lecture was titled "Estimating flexible income processes from subjective expectations data: Evidence from Colombia and India" based on joint work with Manuel Arellano of CEMFI, Britta Augsburg of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), and Sam Crossman of IFS. It focused on whether the subjective expectations from poor households about their future income affects these households' income processes.

The objective of the annual conference is to encourage debates on important economic issues for the Latin American and Caribbean region through the active participation of academics, researchers, policy-makers, members of international organizations and students.
