Summary:
The Economic Growth Center (EGC) is Yale’s hub for economics research and teaching on issues concerning lower-income economies and advancement of their populations. The Markets and Development Initiative at EGC brings together methods and questions of Industrial Organization, Trade and Development Economics to produce a deep understanding of developing-country markets. Faculty leading the initiative include Lauren Falcao Bergquist, Pinelopi Goldberg, Amit Khandelwal and Nicholas Ryan.
The EGC is offering a Kuznets Fellowship in Markets and Development for recent graduates of Ph.D. programs in economics. The fellowship is based in New Haven and the fellow will contribute to EGC research and publications in the area of markets, trade and development, support and participate in activities related to the Markets and Development Initiative and participate in seminars and conferences at Yale.
Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. prior to the beginning of the fellowship. Fellows are expected to be present in the EGC facilities three full days per week and reside in the New Haven area.
The Fellowship will start with the 2025-26 academic year and last for one year. Yale can sponsor visas for postdoctoral fellowships.

- Job Market Paper or at least one scholarly writing sample (in English)
- PhD program transcript
- Three letters of recommendation
