North East Universities Gender Day
This day-long event will bring together early-career and senior scholars in the northeastern United States to explore the role of gender in the economy.
Event description
The North East Universities Gender Day (NEUGD) aims to bring together early-career and senior scholars to explore the role of gender in the economy. Historically, the economics of gender has not been a subfield on its own, but rather a cross-cutting theme that has gained recognition over recent years. This conference aims to provide a forum for economists in the northeastern United States who are interested in topics related to gender to share research across departments and across more traditional subfields of economics. The day-long conference will feature presentations by early-career economists (PhD students and postdocs), including on early-stage projects, as well as opportunities to get feedback from more senior researchers. By fostering dialogue across departments and subfields, as well as creating opportunities to meet potential collaborators and mentors, the North East Universities Gender Day aims to inspire and advance research in economics that centers on gender or integrates it into economic analysis focused on other themes. The conference program below shows the list of confirmed speakers, presentations, and timings.
If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact co-organizers Lisa Ho, Postdoctoral Associate at Yale Economic Growth Center with Inclusion Economics and Camille Falézan, PhD Student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Economics Department at econ-gender-day-2025@mit.edu
